The University of Lorraine is rallying behind Pink October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Throughout October, we will be visiting our laboratories to highlight their expertise and research work on this crucial issue.
It is also an opportunity to remind everyone that research on this subject is ongoing throughout the year. We spoke with Céline Frochot, a CNRS researcher in photodynamic cancer therapy at the Reactions and Process Engineering Laboratory (LRGP) (CNRS – University of Lorraine). We discussed photodynamic therapy in particular, but also the thesis project on breast cancer that she will be supervising from November 2025, in collaboration with Samir Acherar, lecturer and researcher at the Laboratory of Macromolecular Chemistry and Physics (LCPM) (CNRS – University of Lorraine), in cooperation with Miffy Hok Yan Cheng from the University of British Columbia, UBC in Vancouver (More information). The thesis, funded by the CNRS through the “Call for Proposals 2025 – UBC-CNRS PhD Joint Program,” has been awarded to Héloïse Vincent.
