MEET
Since completing his PhD at the University of Lorraine, Francisco Ruiz has pursued the same ambition: to develop an insulating material that is both high-performance and environmentally friendly. He has succeeded. Today, the doctor and entrepreneur is the founder of Keey Aerogel, a pioneering start-up that manufactures eco-friendly aerogels from construction waste, a world first.
Beginnings between the laboratory and the business world
Originally from Spain, Francisco Ruiz joined ENSIC to complete a CIFRE PhD at Separex, a company specializing in supercritical fluids. My thesis topic was already on aerogels,“ he says. His thesis topic was: ”Study of the development of very high porosity materials using processes involving supercritical fluids.”
