Water in liquid form at –58°C!
Seeing water in liquid form at sub-zero temperatures may seem surprising, but this phenomenon is well known to scientists. Called supercooling, it was first observed as early as 1724 by…

The EMPP research department is composed of six laboratories: ERPI, GREEN, LERMaB, LCPM, LEMTA, LRGP and the Jacques Villermaux Research Federation.
It brings together research in energy, mechanics, process and product engineering, biological processes, product chemistry and physical chemistry, industrial engineering and electrical engineering. It thus covers a broad spectrum of skills, from molecular synthesis to complex media, as well as a range of scales, from the atom up to the industrial facilities.
