Fablabs, for fabrication laboratory, are multiplying in higher education institutions. In a customized setting, they experiment with new ways of learning and creating. Campus Matin set out to discover a world of machines that is much more human than it seems.

The fablab model, created in 2001 at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), has been spreading in France since 2009. Proven outside the academic world, it is gradually making its way into higher education institutions in the name of educational innovation and research progress.

Some of them are listed on the platform of inspiring places of the Ministry of Higher Education and Research (MESR) created to give visibility to spaces and places that promote innovation in terms of pedagogy or uses.
