You are currently viewing #8march – Women in research, Isabelle ZIEGLER DEVIN [5/8]

Isabelle Ziegler-Devin is a lecturer at LERMAB and a professor at ENSIC. Her research focuses on the chemical valorisation of biomass and the development of innovative pretreatment processes. She aims at substituting fossil materials by biobased materials. She enjoys her work both as a teacher and as a researcher, and particularly appreciates the autonomy in her daily life. She chose to focus on biomass because of the growing concern for the state of the planet and the future of our children.

What is your research theme?

Isabelle Ziegler-Devin: “I work on the chemical valorisation of biomass. So with my colleagues, we are interested in the development and optimization of innovative biomass pre-treatment processes. And our goal is also to develop applications for which we will come to substitute fossil materials with biobased materials.”
