LERMaB’s GP4Wood platform is dedicated to the valorization of biomass in a biorefinery context. It draws on cutting-edge expertise in biomass characterization and pretreatment. Open to companies and research laboratories, it supports the ecological transition by adding value to wood waste and biomass by-products. The members of the platform, recently awarded the INFRA+ label, tell us more.

Factuel: Could you tell us a little about your platform?

Green Process for Wood (GP4Wood) is a platform of the team “Procédés de Valorisation du Bois et des Déchets – PVBD” of the Laboratoire d’Etudes et de Recherche sur le Matériau Bois (LERMaB) on the site of the Faculté des Sciences et Technologies. The team’s main focus is on the valorization of lignocellulosic biomass in a biorefinery context.

The GP4Wood platform underwent its first successful INFRA+ evaluation on April 1, 2025. It brings together a multi-disciplinary team of ten people, including four teacher-researchers and three support staff.
