Supported by the Lorraine Initiative of Excellence, the IMPACT IMAGE project explores the potential of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to address challenges arising from two traditionally distinct fields: health and energy systems & process engineering.
At the intersection of several disciplines, the project aims to promote the transfer of knowledge and technologies in MRI between these sectors. In particular, it focuses on improving clinical imaging methods, such as MRI elastography—which characterizes the mechanical properties of biological tissues—as well as on developing new MRI velocimetry techniques to study complex, high-speed flows in energy systems.
