Wastewater treatment is a major societal challenge. At present, over 1.2 billion people have no access to drinking water. What’s more, according to an OECD report, by 2050, over 40% of the world’s population will be living in watersheds subject to high water stress. This calls for the development of efficient technologies for water reuse and recycling.
