You are currently viewing As part of the Industrie Digitale Connecté (INDICO) project, ENSGSI has developed a tool for creating augmented and virtual reality training. The aim of this tool is to enable teachers to create AR and/or VR teaching scenarios without any IT development.

The current use case is learning how to use the laser cutting machines used in mechanical engineering courses at ENSGSI. During the year 2022-2023, 80 people took part in the comparative study evaluating the impact of augmented reality use on learning. Initial results from this population show that learning to use a machine is just as good in autonomy with a headset as with tutored training.

The second phase of this project is to validate the content creation tool that will be used by teachers and trainers. This tool consists of a Web platform deployed on the Université de Lorraine infrastructure. Its aim is to parameterize the 3D environment and training without the need for programming. Our aim is to validate the platform’s interfaces and user path with teachers and trainers. To this end, user tests are being organized at the Lorraine Fab Living Lab (LF2L) in Nancy.
