As part of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, we interviewed Kaoutar to explain her background and work to young women, and to inspire them to explore the path of research.
Can you tell us more about your background?
Originally from Morocco, I studied there up to the classes préparatoires aux grandes écoles in Mathematics, Physics and Engineering Sciences in Oujda. In 2019, I moved to Nancy to study at the École Nationale Supérieure d’Electricité et de Mécanique (ENSEM), where I obtained a double engineering degree in energy in 2022, as well as a research master’s degree in “Mechanics and Energy” at the Faculty of Science and Technology. Fascinated by the fields of fluid mechanics and thermics, I then decided to pursue a PhD and I’m currently in my second year with the “Transfers in fluids” team.
