In an ATEX (explosive atmosphere) environment, the facility offers a generic tool for the study of the liquid methanisation process but also associated processes such as in situ and ex situ methanation.
The facility has culture capacities ranging from 2 to 100 L of useful volume. All the bioreactors are designed to allow an on-line monitoring of the gas flow rate and the composition of the synthesized biogas (measurement by gas phase micro-chromatography).
An important part of the work carried out within this platform is done in close collaboration with the Methanisation facility of La Bouzule R&D center (ENSAIA).
