Thermo-hydro-mechanical couplings
This vast experimental platform is equipped to carry out most of the soil mechanics and geotechnical tests. A specificity of the platform concerns the development and fine-tuning of devices for the study of coupled thermo-hydro-mechanical processes. The laboratory thus possesses numerous devices with controlled suction such as osmotic oedometers or saline solution oedometers entirely developed by the soil mechanics team assisted by the LEMTA Technical Department.
Different temperature-controlled devices allow to monitor the shear, compressibility and creep parameters of soils over a wide temperature range (from -20 to 60°C). In order to approach the scale of the structure, this platform also has a thermo-regulated test tank (about 1 m3 of useful volume).
