In 2024: The Sensitive Workshop
What could be more evocative than a workshop? A place to work, repair or create. The workshop evokes man at work, industry, the theme of this 21st ephemeral garden.

The workshop can be green, generally a greenhouse where plants express themselves. It can also take on other colors. Wood, metal, glass and textiles are all used. The creations of the City of Nancy’s gardeners address these multiple industrial facets. The garden takes the form of a giant gear on Place Stanislas. This emblematic piece sets in motion the entire mechanics of l’Éphémère. The eleven scenes will tell the intimate, sometimes conflicting but also cooperative story of man’s endless inventiveness and the natural element that surrounds him, or rather of which he is a part. We’ll be talking about old and prestigious industries, energy, new technologies and even cartography. Unprecedented collaborations with the Institut national de l’information géographique et forestière (IGN) and the Daum crystal glassworks will surprise and amaze.
