The MATICS project [MATériaux Innovants pour des Cellules de Batteries Sécurisées] is supported and financed as part of the France 2030 national battery strategy, operated by BPI France through the “Innovative solutions and technologies for batteries” call for projects.
MATICS is also accredited by two competitiveness clusters in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region: Axelera and Tenerrdis.
The aim of the project is to develop new designs for pouch cell electric battery modules, incorporating innovative inter-cell materials to slow down or even prevent the propagation of thermal runaway within the module, thus guaranteeing greater safety.
