The regional final of the University of Lorraine “Ma Thèse 180” was broadcasted live on YouTube this Thursday, March 25 at 6:30 pm. The principle is simple: the 11 qualified French-speaking PhD students must present their thesis in a clear and concise manner in a maximum of 3 minutes.
“Ma thèse en 180 secondes” is an international competition that highlights French-speaking PhD students every year. The objective is for the students to present their thesis in 3 minutes; a complicated exercise that requires many weeks of training! This year, out of the forty or so doctoral students registered for the competition, 11 candidates were selected for the regional final at the University of Lorraine. Between biology, computer science, psychology, environment, or management, the themes are varied. The 11 candidates, Caroline Choufa, Pauline Colin, Guilherme Alves da Silva, Justine Basselin, Zakaria Baka, Arivoara Rabarijaona, Anais Marmuse, Aurélia Denner, Koumba Dembele, Mariam Beck and Jessica Colombel, all wanted to take up the challenge of sharing their passion by addressing a diverse audience. The final took place behind closed doors (due to the health situation) with only the candidates and the organizers present. The public and the jury followed the final in streaming on the YouTube page of the University of Lorraine.
