RE2020: A PIVOTAL MOMENT FOR THE FRENCH WOOD INDUSTRY THE FRENCH ARE IN FAVOR OF WOOD IN THE CONSTRUCTION SECTOR TO REDUCE THE CARBON FOOTPRINT OF BUILDINGS

Wood has an essential role to play in reducing the carbon footprint of buildings and the French themselves are saying so! According to the recent survey conducted by CSA for the French wood industry, more than 8 out of 10 (82%) trust the industry for its ability to reduce the sector’s CO2 emissions and thus contribute to the ecological transition in France. 74% of them even consider wood to be too little present in buildings, believing that the current 8 to 10% share devoted to this material is not enough to reduce the carbon impact of the building sector. It is urgent that the actors of this sector react: 94% of the population believes that they should take more into account the environmental impact of the materials used in the design of constructions! The building sector is indeed the second most important sector of greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) in France.
