The new MRI imager arrived at LEMTA on March 13, after several months’ work to ensure it was properly installed. It weighs 900 kg, produces a magnetic field of 3 Tesla and can accommodate samples up to 17 cm in diameter.
After a few weeks to cool it down, put it into (magnetic) fields and carry out various calibrations, the MRI engineering team is now ready to take its first measurements!
The team’s know-how and the full range of nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy and imaging equipment are made available to the various LEMTA research teams, as well as to the laboratories of the EMPP scientific cluster of the Université de Lorraine.
