We met Jean-Luc SIX, recently appointed as the new Director of the LCPM (CNRS/Université de Lorraine).
What is your background?
After obtaining a post-graduate diploma in polymers, I went on to do a PhD at the Laboratoire de Chimie des Polymères Organiques at Bordeaux 1 University, followed by a post-doctoral internship at the Centre d’Etude et de Recherche sur les Macromolécules in Liège. In 1997, I was recruited by the Institut National Polytechnique de Lorraine, where I was attached to the Laboratoire de Chimie Physique Macromoléculaire (LCPM) and assigned to the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Industries Chimiques (ENSIC). In 2001, I transferred to the Ecole Européenne des Ingénieurs en Génie des Matériaux (EEIGM). At the EEIGM, I have been in charge of recruitment for the engineering cycle on the CCINP and “Prépa des INP” competitive entrance examinations for over ten years and, in addition to module responsibilities, I lead the chemistry discipline and the Elaboration and Forming division. I also coordinate the “Materials for Health” option and am responsible for the “Polymer and Composite Materials” course in the “Advanced Materials Science and Engineering” (AMASE, ERASMUS MUNDUS Label) specialization of the “Engineering Sciences and Materials” Master’s degree.
