Silvia Lasala is a lecturer at LRGP (CNRS – Université de Lorraine) and a professor at ENSIC. With her team, she devotes her research activity to the development of a new generation of power plants and heat pumps using a reactive working fluid.
Three years ago, her REACHER (Reactive fluids for intensified thermal energy conversion) research project was awarded an ERC Starting Grant. This is a grant of excellence designed to support and finance outstanding researchers at the start of their careers. At the start of 2025, Silvia Lasala has just been awarded another ERC, this time Proof of Concept, to explore the societal potential of her new project: CREATIVE (Carboxylic acids as REAcTIVE refrigerants to make heat pumps efficient).
