Following their qualification for the Shell Eco-marathon Europe and Africa on the Nogaro circuit last May (read more below), the Ensem Eco-Marathon team landed in Bangalore, India on October 10-12, 2023 for the Shell Eco-marathon World Championship 2023!
12 international teams (4 American, 4 Asian and 4 European) are taking part in this competition.
The team was made up of 7 students, Pascal Fontaine (URAFPA teacher/researcher) and 2 LEMTA researchers Jérôme Dillet (CNRS research engineer) & Sophie Didierjean (teacher/researcher).
After a long journey, the first day saw the team set up in the paddock and install the fuel cell and telemetry equipment in the vehicle. The vehicle then passed technical inspection and the first circuit tests.
The last 2 days were marked by excellent performances:
– 1st (out of 2 teams) in the energy-saving challenge, with hydrogen consumption of 121.6km/m^3,
– 2nd (out of 11 teams) in the fast lap,
– and a glorious 2nd place in the world!
